Magdalene Martha Spry, 90

Magdalene Martha Spry, 90, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, in Kalispell.

She was born on Feb. 24, 1921, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of Jerry and Angela (Brancato) Marino.

She attended Abraham Lincoln High School in Brooklyn.

She married Harold Spry on July 6, 1941, in Brooklyn. 

Magdalene lived in Cupertino, Calif., for many years, then relocated to Kalispell to be closer to her children. She was very active in the Ladies Circle of Central Christian Church, of which she was a longtime member. She volunteered at Kalispell Regional Medical Center and was an election judge for many years.

She enjoyed creating latch hook rugs, cooking, baking and spending time with family and grandchildren.

Magdalene was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, in 1977; her parents; and sister, Ann Marie, in 1958.

 She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Wells of Kalispell; son, Philip Spry and wife, Toni, of Clayton, N.C.; son, Harold Spry III of Big Arm; daughter, Lynn and husband, Steve Shoemaker, of Kalispell; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

At her request no services will be held at this time.
