Soccer: Stillwater boys top C-Falls

COLUMBIA FALLS — Stillwater Christian School struck
early with a goals by Skyler Rieke and an indirect kick by Joshua
Bray in the first 14 minutes and rolled from there to a 4-0
nonconference soccer victory over Columbia Falls on Saturday.
Rieke scored first on a shot just 7 1/2 minutes into
play.
Rieke added a goal off an assist by Bray at 32
minutes and Zachary Waldher finished the scoring with a goal at 50
minutes.
Stillwater outshot Columbia Falls on goal 29-5, and
led in corner kicks 6-2.
Anthony Correa was busy in goal for the Wildcats,
totaling 16 saves.
“Stillwater is a good, skilled team,” Columbia Falls
coach Peter Browne said.
“Our inexperience showed. I have a good group of
kids, but started five in their first varsity soccer game. We just
need to learn from our mistakes and move on.”
Browne was impressed with the play of of his senior
defender and captain Alex Vanhorn.
“He had a good game in the back,” Browne said.
“He played hard-nosed soccer.”
Columbia Falls is back in action Tuesday at Bigfork,
3:30 p.m.
