Lemonade stand run by smart cookies
A person calling the Flathead County Sheriff's Office from East Evergreen Drive complained that kids had set up a lemonade stand and one of them was dressed up like a crossing guard, using a stop sign to effectively stop traffic. It turned out the "crossing guard" was a contract worker who was stopping traffic legitimately, and the kids had just picked a good spot for their stand.
There was a report of a burglary at a coffee shop on West Reserve Drive.
A woman calling from a Helena Flats Road address said she had fallen into a cat litter box and might need help. She ended up being fine.
A woman reported that she had been locked behind a gate on her North Fork Road property by a neighbor. The problem was eventually resolved.
A man calling from a Columbia Falls Stage Road address reported that his wife, who is on probation, got drunk and struck him, breaking his nose. The matter is under investigation.
A man reported from a Shady Lane address that he had been assaulted by his son.
There was a report of another assault on Shady Lane involving a man spraying another man with pepper spray and then threatening to shoot him.
There was a report of a fifth-wheel trailer being taken from a Shady Lane address, but it turned out to be a repossession rather than a theft.
A man reported that sometime last year he was fairly certain that he spotted a car sunk in about 20 feet of water in Island Lake northwest of Marion. He said he has not able to relocate the vehicle because the water has been muddy this year. The report was forwarded to the Lincoln County law enforcement because the lake is in their jurisdiction.
There was a report from a Columbia Falls Stage Road address involving a man asking for help in removing an unwanted woman. The man, however, had a warrant for his arrest, apparently prompting him to leave before a deputy arrived.
There was a report of a fight between two men at a Parklane Drive address. One ended up getting a ride to a hotel in the Kalispell area.
Kalispell Police got a report Sunday of a homeless man entering a store on West Idaho Street, taking some chips into the bathroom and eating them before running out of the store.
A man reported that he had been punched in the face by another man at a West California Street address.
There was a report of a window being broken out of a vehicle in the area of West Washington Street and Second Avenue West North.
After responding to a report of disturbance at an apartment on 11th Street West, officers arrested a woman on mental health charges.
Monday, there was a report of a business being spray-painted wtih graffiti sometime over the weekend on Seventh Avenue East North.
The Hungry Horse Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire on Third Street South in Martin City at about 9 p.m. Sunday. Flathead County Sheriff's personnel were called in at one point to secure the house and allow for an arson investigation.
