Brien Edward Pyles, 49

Brien Edward Pyles, 49, of Martin City, passed away on Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell.

Brien was born on Sept. 20, 1961, in Kalispell, the son of Thomas and Bernadine (Snyder) Pyles. He graduated from Flathead High School in 1980 and went on to study at Job Corps.

Brien considered himself the “Canyon Counselor” and enjoyed being of help to anyone in need. This he enjoyed and was most proud. Brien was a lifetime member of the South Fork Saloon Patrons Association and enjoyed fishing, hunting and socializing.

Brien was preceded in death by his mother, Bernadine; and nephew, Steven Trumble.

He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Pyles, of Kalispell; father, Thomas Pyles, and “stepmomster,” Sandi Pyles, both of Martin City; sisters, Linda Trumble of Covington, Wash., Susan Jones of Helena, and Audrey Snyder of Conrad; brothers, Thomas Pyles Jr., of Millersville, Md., and Russ Pyles of Columbia Falls; stepbrothers, Anthony Lufkin and Ryan Gikiere, both of Kalispell; stepsister, Jennifer Gikiere, of Martin City; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Brien's life and potluck will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at South Fork Saloon, Main Street, Martin City.
