Vehicles targeted across valley
A man calling the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office from Freckles Road in the Kalispell area reported that he caught someone going through his vehicle at about 5 a.m. Sunday. He yelled and the person fled, possibly dropping something in the driveway.
A man calling from Pleasant View Drive reported that someone went through his vehicles, but it didn’t appear anything was missing.
There was a report of someone going through vehicles on West Reserve, leaving tracks in the snow indicating that the perpetrator was checking other vehicles in the area.
There was a report of an unruly, violent 15-year-old boy at a Dover Drive residence in the Kalispell area. The boy was taken to the county juvenile detention facility.
A man calling from Steeles Drive in the Columbia Falls area reported the theft of a DVD player, a ladder, stereo equipment and two saws from his garage sometime over the last couple weeks.
There was a report of people breaking into a shop on Bear Canyon Road in the Lakeside area, starting a campfire and leaving a beer bottle behind. It was unclear if anything was taken.
A woman reported that she caught people trying to steal her vehicle at a Gray Lane address in the Kalispell area. She noticed the vehicle’s lights were on and it sounded like the perpetrators were trying to start it before they fled the area on foot. The report ended up being unfounded, as it was a nearby neighbor’s vehicle that was actually started and there was no evidence the reporting party’s vehicle had been entered.
After responding to a report of a verbal disturbance at an apartment on Sixth Avenue West Sunday night, Kalispell Police arrested a woman on Flathead County warrants.
There was a report of two boys shooting a window with a BB gun at a Rising Sun Circle residence.
The Whitefish Fire Department responded to a chimney fire at an East Second Street residence Monday morning.
