Jeffrey William Poe, 39

| December 6, 2011 7:00 PM

Jeff Poe of Kalispell passed from this life on Nov. 23, 2011.

Jeff was born on March 27, 1972, in Eaton Rapids, Mich., to Jim and Corinne Poe. When he was a small boy, Jeff’s family moved to Montana.

As a boy he loved wrestling and baseball and excelled as a member of Flathead’s AAU Wrestling and Little League baseball.

Jeff graduated from Flathead High School in 1990. He was a proud member of the Flathead High Brave’s varsity wrestling and football teams and was state champion runner-up in 1990.

He married Jennifer Barker in Omaha, Neb. The proudest moment of his life was when his son, Andrew, was born in 1991. Jeff spent the next 12 years raising Andrew. During these years, they lived in Nebraska, Arizona and Reno, Nev.

When in Reno, he was employed by Custom Concrete and became an expert concrete cutter. He worked for Stevens Concrete several years in the Flathead. In 2010, he obtained his CDL and started working for Halliburton in Williston, N.D.

Jeff was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved watching NFL football. He enjoyed golfing with Dad and hunting and fishing with family members.

Jeff was a man of few words but with a heart of gold. He will be missed by all who knew and who loved him.

He is survived by his son, Andrew Poe, of Delta, Colo.; father Jim Poe, and mother Corinne Poe, of Kalispell; brother, Jimmy Poe, and wife, Angie, and their children, Jordan, Bailie and Jaden; sister, Deborah Poe, and husband, Jason Hatten, and their children Alyssa, Noah and Caleb, all of Kalispell; and his maternal grandfather, William Collier, of Springport, Mich.

In remembrance of Jeff, his friends and family are invited to a memorial service at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2200 Highway 2 E., Kalispell, with pastor Kurt Rau officiating.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family suggests donations to an education savings account opened by Corinne Poe for Jeff’s son Andrew, a freshman at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colo., at any Wells Fargo Bank branch.
