Broncs pull away from Wildkats

WHITEFISH - Hamilton used a big second quarter to break away from Columbia Falls en route to a 56-35 victory Friday during first-day play for girls at the NWA/SWA Tip-off Tournament.

Columbia Falls held a 10-7 edge after the first period, but Hamilton ripped off 22 points in the second quarter for a 29-11 halftime lead.

Hamilton outscored Columbia Falls 27-14 in the final half.

Taylor Goligoski hit four treys in the second period to finish with a game-high 26 points.

Haley Belgarde paced Columbia Falls scoring with eight points.

Riley Kenney led a balanced Polson offensive attack with 21 points as the Pirates rolled to a 16-point victory.

Polson scored 21 and 20 points, respectively, in the second and third periods.

Heidi Rausch added 14 points and Anna DiGiallonardo 13 for the Pirates.

Jayme Stergar led the way for Anaconda with 11.

Stevensville, up 20-6 after the first period, was outscored by Bigfork 32-20 after that.
