The city of Kalispell is asking people to review and comment on a draft master plan update for the Kalispell City Airport.

The draft master plan, also being submitted for comment and review to the Federal Aviation Administration, lays out five final options for Kalispell City Airport.

Options include a federally funded expansion and upgrade of the airport at its present location, a locally funded expansion and upgrade at its present location, moving the airport to a location near West Reserve Drive and West Spring Creek Road, closing the airport and moving its users to Glacier Park International Airport, or “doing nothing” and eventually closing the facility as it deteriorates over the next five to 10 years.

The draft master plan update is available for review at the City Clerk’s Office, 201 First Avenue East, or on the city of Kalispell website at: www.kalispell.com/mayor_and_city_council/CityAirportInformation.php.

Public comments will be accepted until Jan. 15, 2012, at the office of Stelling Engineers Inc., 1372 Airport Road, Kalispell, MT 59901 or by email at Jwalla@stellinginc.com.
