Hammering couple try to enter vacant home

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a man and a woman, both in their early 20s, pounding on the back door of a home on Bald Rock Road in Kalispell with a hammer. No one was living at the home, as it is up for sale.

A resident of River Road in Evergreen reported a boy came to his door asking if his son was awake, then asked him if he wanted to smoke marijuana with him. The boy was with another person, and the man said both are known for breaking into vehicles. The boy was listed as a runaway.

A resident of Stag Lane in Kalispell reported the family’s car alarm had gone off as someone had smashed in the passenger side window and stolen a purse.

A resident of Arcadia Way in Columbia Falls reported a window was broken out of his truck and the steering column was tampered with.

A resident of Shawnee Drive in Bigfork reported several mailboxes along the road had been opened and mail was thrown all over the ground.

A generator, welding leads and a water pump were reported stolen from a location on U.S. 2 West in Columbia Falls.

It was reported that a former employee of a business on Montana 35 in Evergreen stole a laptop from the business.

Money was reported taken from the checking account of a Columbia Falls resident.

The Kalispell Police Department received a report that 26 frozen turkeys were stolen from a store on U.S. 93 North. It is believed an employee was involved as the building was secure.

It was reported that a 19-year-old man assaulted the caller’s boyfriend on First Street West.

A man was arrested on a warrant on South Main Street.

A vehicle was reported burglarized and a window broken out on Beargrass Lane.

A purse and a wallet were reported stolen from a vehicle on Beargrass Lane.

A theft was reported on Northwest Lane.

The Columbia Falls Police Department received a report of minor items stolen when someone broke into a vehicle on 12th Avenue West.

A theft of money was reported on 13th Street West.

Officers with the Polson Police Department made an arrest on a probation violation while the person was reporting to his or her probation officer.

The Whitefish Police Department received a report of theft on Barkley Lane.
