Gravel Pit Property Clean Up

Knife River Corp. continues to clean up its 40-acre property between Whitefish Stage Road and a spur of the railroad line that runs in Kalispell. Flathead County Economic Development Authority wants to purchase the gravel pit property to develop a new shovel-ready industrial park with rail access over the next 18 months, using a $1.2 million grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration. The development authority has indicated that it hopes to be able to close on a sale by year's end.
