Browning woman dies in Marias Pass crash
A 42-year-old Browning woman was killed in a single-car accident Thursday afternoon on U.S. 2 at Marias Pass.
Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry identified the woman as Gayle Benson.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, Benson was eastbound at 3:30 p.m. when she lost control of her vehicle on wet, slick roads while traveling too fast for the conditions, striking a guardrail. The woman, who was not wearing a seatbelt but was not ejected, died as a result of her injuries.
A 19-year-old woman who was a passenger in the vehicle was also injured and was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
A third passenger was uninjured.
