Darlene Elizabeth Delap, 69

Darlene Elizabeth Delap, 69, of Redmond, Wash., passed away Dec. 14, 2011, in Redmond.

She was born Dec. 13, 1942, in New Salem, N.D.

Darlene came to Monroe, Wash., from New Salem in 1949, and then graduated from Monroe High School in 1960.

She married and had two children, later graduating from Everett Community College for nursing.

Darlene worked for three major corporations in industrial nursing, including Anaconda Aluminum Company, Kenworth and Boeing.  

Darlene met and married the love of her life, Dave Delap, in 1985. She enjoyed life to the fullest and her family was number one priority. She will be missed by many family members and friends.

 Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Lang; by her brother, Robert Lang; and by two grandchildren, Tyler and Zakary Pierce. 

She is survived by her husband, David Delap, of 27 years; her daughter, Mary, and Bill Koontz; her son, Todd, and Tammi Winje; and granddaughter, Madison Pierce. She is also survived by siblings, Dorothy Hansen, Bernice Farmer, Norbert Lang and George Lang.

Memorials may be made to Evergreen Hospice in Kirkland, Wash.

A visitation was held on Dec. 17 at Purdy & Kerr w/Dawson Funeral Home in Monroe. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 21 at Purdy & Kerr w/Dawson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Kalispell.
