Glacier girls top Great Falls
Great Falls won the battle of the turnovers, but the Glacier Wolfpack claimed the rebounding war - and the basketball game.
The Glacier girls downed visiting Great Falls 44-33 on Saturday night.
The Wolfpack (2-1) came down with 49 rebounds to 39 for the Bison.
Rachel Chery scored eight points and pulled in 14 boards.
Cassie Hashley had six points and 11 rebounds for the Wolfpack.
Scoring leader for the Wolfpack was Nicole Heavirland with 17.
"We're still turning the ball over a little too much, but we're going to do that when we push," said Glacier coach Kris Salonen.
Salonen knew things were going to be wild going in - both teams like to apply full-court pressure.
Rebounding was the key.
"That's been our goal, to outrebound every team," she said.
The fourth quarter was huge - Glacier led 28-27 going in, but outscored Great Falls 16-6 in the frame.
The next game for Glacier is Thursday when they play host to Lake City High.
