Baby in ER with head injuries, abuse suspected

The Columbia Falls Police Department investigated a report of suspected child abuse Saturday evening, with a 14-month-old child in a hospital emergency room with a traumatic head injury.

A worker with Child Protective Services reported the suspected abuse and told police the child could have a brain bleed and has numerous bruises.

Earlier Saturday, a caller reported damage to a men's bathroom at Sixth Street West.

A Karen Road resident reported the theft of guns, personal property and a Honda CRV possibly being used to transport drugs.

Callers reported several vehicles broken into early Saturday morning with missing items including a purse, wallet, loose change and a key ring with numerous keys to businesses throughout the valley.

Sunday afternoon, Kalispell Police Department officers responded to a casino on North Main Street for a report of a disoriented man with dried blood all over him and a bump on his head. The man refused medical attention and correctly answered a series of questions.

A caller on Fourth Avenue East reported seeing tire tracks on the sidewalk going half way down the 600 block and through the trees.

Early Sunday morning, a caller reported an intoxicated man falling down and stumbling around at 13th Street East and Airport Road.

A drunken man at South Main Street and 10th Street West was advised not to walk in the road any more.

A caller reported a drunken man stumbling along U.S. 2 after almost hitting him with his car. The caller said the man flipped him off.

Police found a man urinating in a parking lot on U.S. 2.

A man on Treeline Road called in a gray truck with Washington plates for hitting two parked cars. Police arrived and found the caller had been drinking. No damaged vehicles were found.

Saturday evening, a man was arrested on U.S. 2 after police watched him come out of a building wearing a mask.

Earlier Saturday, a caller at a store on U.S. 93 said two females took a pair of shoes and hid them under their coats.

A woman on U.S. 93 reported her purse stolen from a cart. She called back to say it was found in another cart.

A woman was cited and released for shoplifting.

A man left his bicycle at the police department Friday for safe keeping and came back Saturday to find it gone. Police told him to come back Monday to retrieve it.

A woman on 11th Street West reported getting threats saying she should die. She told police she feels the threats are somehow coming from Facebook. Police reported that both parties were counseled.

A tire was slashed on a vehicle on Fourth Avenue East.

A woman on Second Avenue West told police her son keeps sending her emails and websites and will not leave her alone.

A store employee on First Avenue West North reported a drunk woman asking customers to have sex for money. The woman was taken to the Flathead County Detention Center.

Suspicious activity on Ridge Crest Drive and Ridge Crest Court was reported to the Whitefish Police Department on Saturday.

A theft was reported on U.S. 93.

Suspicious activity was reported on U.S. 93 early Sunday morning.

Early Sunday morning, deputies with the Flathead County Sheriff's Office responded to a disturbance with a weapon reported on Highway 35.

A fight was reported on Lake Blaine Drive.

Someone reported a physical disturbance on Zimmerman Road.
