Tamale stand robbed
Kalispell Police are investigating a robbery Monday afternoon from a tamale stand on West Idaho Street.
The incident at the Espinoza tamale stand on the 300 block of West Idaho was reported at about 1:35 p.m.
“Basically, it will be considered a strong-armed robbery,” said Sgt. Myron Wilson of the Kalispell Police Department.
“The suspect approached the tamale stand and was looking at the tamales and when [the owner] pulled his money bag out, the suspect grabbed it and they struggled over it.”
The suspected succeeded in snatching the bag and fleeing southbound down a nearby alley.
No was hurt in the altercation and the suspect could not be located by police. Wilson declined to disclose the amount of money stolen.
Wilson said the suspect is a white man, 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-6 inches tall, with a slender build and dressed in a dark gray hooded sweatshirt and khaki pants.
