Creighton Zigmont James Miller, 56

| December 31, 2011 5:25 PM

Creighton Zigmont James Miller passed away on Dec. 17, 2011, at his home in Challis.

Zig was born on Sept. 23, 1955, in Juntura, Ore., to Earl and Josephine Miller, later joined by a sister, Dixie.

He came to Challis in 1983, dipping cattle for the state of Idaho. He met and married Wrene Smith of Salmon in 1984. He later attended barber school in Boise from 1989 to1990, and soon opened Ziggy’s Clip Joint in Challis, which he operated from 1990 until May 2011.

As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, a main joy in his life was talking to people about the Bible and God's purpose for the earth and man. A highlight of that was going to the Custer County Jail, which he did for 25 years, visiting with the inmates about a Bible-based hope for a better future.

Zig is survived by his wife, Wrene Miller of Challis; mother, Josephine Miller of Ronan; and sister, Dixie and Wes Knutson of Columbia Falls.

Zig will be greatly missed.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Jan. 7 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Challis. Everyone is welcome.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Custer County Cancer fund.
