Young actors sought for 'Great Ghost Chase'
The Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre invites students in grades two through six to audition Tuesday for the cast of “The Great Ghost Chase.”
Auditions will be held at the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre after-school center at 833 Grand Ave. Tuesday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. for second- and third-graders and from 5:30 to 7 p.m. for fourth- through sixth-graders.
This production calls for a large cast of around 40.
It costs nothing to audition and only $40 to be a part of the show if cast.
Actors should prepare a 30-second monologue or short selection from another play, poem or book (several will be available at the audition for those who can’t find one) and plan to learn and sing something at the audition.
Actors should not sing their auditions and should show up in comfortable shoes they can move in.
Experience is not necessary.
Those not interested in stage work but who would like to be involved may be able to help with the technical parts of the show, including building sets, props, costumes, lights and sound. Parental and student assistance is welcome.
To sign up or for more information, call 837-4886, email bpct@bigforksummerplayhouse.com or visit www.bigforksummerplayhouse.com.
The show is a take-off on “Ghostbusters” involving an insane asylum taken over by the patients.
Harriet Hollyhock’s plane is forced to land due to a storm, giving her a chance to visit her renowned cousin, Dr. Horace Roy, who operates an asylum for excessively nervous patients.
Things aren’t “normal” at the institution. A poltergeist has been freed by an earthquake. The Ghostchasers are called, but if the nasty ghost wasn’t trouble enough, the patients have locked up the staff, and no one can tell who’s who.
