MISSOULA - Glacier used hot shooting from behind the arc and a big defensive stop in the final seconds Tuesday to knock off Missoula Hellgate 53-51 in Western AA boys basketball play.

Glacier (7-6 overall and 3-2 league) contested Hellgate's final attempt from three-point range with seconds winding down and Glacier's Ryan Edwards pulled down the rebound as time ran out.

"We just kind of hung around in the third quarter," Glacier coach Mark Harkins said.

"We were able to force some turnovers, get some good looks and had some guys shoot lights-out from behind the arc, and we climbed back in it."

Glacier was 7-for-7 in three-point shooting for the final two quarters.

Trey Griffith hit four 3s in the second half and finished with 14 points. Bryan Chery had three treys en route to a team-high 16 points.

Hellgate (10-4 and 6-1) led 32-23 at the half.

Connor Woodill's 19 points paced Hellgate.

Glacier plays at Flathead (7-4, 3-1) on Friday.
