Homecoming was not a happy one

The Kalispell Police Department received a report from a woman on Fifth Avenue East who said she left town in November and returned to find that someone else had moved into her apartment. She said her belongings were still inside and the landlord would not contact her.

At Flathead Valley Community College, someone reported that an angry student flicked a cigarette butt at an instructor who had advised him of a no-smoking policy.

On Fifth Avenue West, a woman was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center after wandering into a stranger’s home. The resident said the woman kept falling asleep and could not speak coherently.

An officer gave a man a ride after he was seen punching a sign at the intersection of College Avenue and Conrad Drive while screaming obscenities.

A boy was brushed by a vehicle near the intersection of U.S. 93 North and Meridian Road. He left without talking to the driver, who reported the incident.

A woman was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol after an employee of a business on U.S. 93 North reported she was “extremely intoxicated.”

A man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after leaving the scene of a two-vehicle collision near the intersection of U.S. 93 North and West Reserve Drive. The passengers of the second vehicle — including two children — were not injured.

An officer helped an elderly man locate his vehicle after he came to the police station on First Avenue East and reported he couldn’t find it.

On Ninth Avenue West, a caller accused a man of harassment for calls that took place over the course of a year.

After leaving a bracelet on a chair at a clinic, a woman on Burns Way said it was stolen. The $80 bracelet included a charm that was 25 years old, she said.

A police patrol car broke down at the intersection of East Oregon Street and Second Avenue East North.

A man on Fourth Avenue East said his ex-wife’s new husband was harassing him.

Security staff removed an apparently intoxicated teenage boy from a business on North Main Street.

Suspicious activity was reported on Seventh Avenue West where a person was seen walking through an alley where several burglaries have occurred.

Harassment was alleged on Sixth Avenue East North where a man said a woman who lives nearby was screaming at him, displaying obscene gestures and “beating on his privacy fence.” He said she also has placed threatening signs in her windows that face his residence.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched after a 12-year-old boy climbed on the roof of his house on McMannamy Draw and attempted to extinguish an apparent chimney fire. The boy came down safely and the fire did not spread from the chimney.

Near Montana 35 outside Bigfork, a woman said she was being prevented from leaving after looking at a house. The owner stood in front of her vehicle, screamed at her, and told her to drive through a neighbor’s yard if she wanted to leave, according to the caller. Deputies counseled the women.

A man was arrested for criminal trespass after a caller on Gunsite Loop heard several people outside a home, one of which stated they were robbers. An unoccupied van was found nearby and later towed. Deputies were unable to locate the other suspects.

Two men argued at a bus stop on Rockwood Drive after one of the men allegedly threatened the other’s wife. They were counseled and told not to talk to each other.

A blue Dodge Dakota was reported stolen on Nicholson Drive.

A landlord on Pleasant Valley Road reported that a tenant left a dryer operating for several days.

Possible animal hoarding was reported by someone on Montana 83 in Bigfork.

Animal cruelty was alleged on Montana 40 West where a caller said horses were not being fed.

On Beaver Lake Road outside Whitefish, two teenage girls reported that their truck was stuck. They later were able to free the truck and return home.
