Cuffs removed, no questions asked

A Kalispell Police Department officer helped remove handcuffs from an 8-year-old boy after his mother brought him to the police station on First Avenue East and reported she couldn’t get them off.

Officers helped round up three horses that were creating a traffic hazard as they traveled from 10th Avenue West toward Meridian Road. A caller reported they were loose after traveling behind them for three blocks.

A man was arrested for an outstanding warrant at a business on U.S. 93 North.

On Fifth Avenue East North, a civil complaint was reported by an angry parent who said a business sold a vehicle to his or her son and the car broke down as he was driving home.

Suspicious activity was reported on Claremont Street after a man asked a woman for a ride.

Officers were unable to locate a woman who filled her purse with merchandise at a business on U.S. 93 South and drove away without paying.

One person suffered an apparent head injury during a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of North Meridian Road and West Idaho Street.

A woman was cited and released for theft after allegedly shoplifting at  a business on Hutton Ranch Road.

A group of teenagers were seen spinning out in vehicles and being generally unsafe in a parking lot near U.S. 93 South.

Money and an iPod were stolen during an apparent burglary at a home on Parkway Drive. A teenage girl reported the incident after returning home to find footprints leading to and from the residence and discovering that items were missing.

Criminal mischief was reported on East Second Street where two males were seen putting temporary “no parking” signs on tops of vehicles. Officers were unable to locate them.

On East Idaho Street, a man reported harassment after a man threatened to kill him. The caller said the man was with his ex-girlfriend.

A woman driving on Merganser Drive reported suspicious activity after seeing a man carrying what appeared to be crowbar attempt to hide as she drove by. Officers couldn’t find the man.

Montana Highway Patrol troopers responded to non-injury collisions on Valley View Drive and on U.S. 2 near the intersection of Birch Grove Road.

Vehicles slid off the roadway on U.S. 2 West at mile markers 105 and 190 and on Trumble Canyon Road near Columbia Falls.

 The Whitefish Police Department received a report of fraud on East 13th Street.

Two instances of suspicious activity were reported on Central Avenue.

A hit and run collision occurred on Baker Avenue.

Theft was alleged on Spokane Avenue.
