Get your ride ready for annual barstool ski races

The 33st annual Cabin Fever Days comes to the Canyon this weekend.

One of the main events will be barstool ski races in Martin City on Saturday and Sunday.

Contestants and their homemade barstools will race on Sugar Hill in Martin City for a chance at this year’s title. Spectators are welcome.

Events are scheduled at numerous bars and venues in Coram, Hungry Horse and Martin City. A variety of live music will be featured.

A free shuttle will be available to take people to all events. The shuttle will run in a continuous loop from 2 to 11 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Park your car at one of the following spots to ride: Dam Town Tavern, Mike’s Conoco and Huckleberry Patch in Hungry Horse or Packer’s Roost, Glacier Center (Cenex) and Dew Drop in Coram.

Additionally, a free shuttle will take event-goers from Meadow Lake Resort in Columbia Falls to Sugar Hill and back, from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. This shuttle also will make one stop to pick up and drop off passengers at the Montana Coffee Traders/Pamida parking lot.

A $3 Cabin Fever Days button is required for all events.

All proceeds benefit the Canyon Kids Christmas Fund, Canyon Quick Response Unit, Martin City Fire Department and Canyon Head Start.

Saturday, Feb. 12

10 a.m. — Biscuits and gravy, Packers Roost, Coram; $5 per plate.

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Food and craft vendors, Martin City.

10 a.m. — Kids Pool Tourney, Dam Town Tavern, Hungry Horse.

10 a.m. to noon — Sign up for barstool ski races, $20 per sled, Southfork Saloon, Martin City.

Noon — Kids sled races, Sugar Hill, Martin City. A free shuttle will take children to the carnival from the sled races.

1 p.m. — Canyon Head Start Kids Carnival, Head Start, Martin City. Free event; concessions available, donations welcome.

1 p.m. — Barstool race qualifying runs, Sugar Hill.

2 p.m. — Hog roast, Packers Roost, Coram; $8 per plate.

2 p.m. — Deer races, Deerlick, Martin City.

3 p.m. — Sumo wrestling, $3 per entry, Packers Roost, Coram.

3 p.m. — Shuffleboard tourney, $5 entry, Southfork.

3 p.m. — Snowshoe softball, Martin City ballpark.

4 p.m. — Turtle races, Southfork Saloon, Martin City.

4 p.m. — Arm wrestling, Stonefly Lounge, Coram; $5 entry.

9 p.m. — Beard contest, Stonefly Lounge, Coram.

Sunday, Feb. 13
