Norma Lee Johnson, 78
Norma Lee Johnson, 78, passed away on Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell.
She was born on Nov. 18, 1932, on the family farm south of Columbia Falls, the daughter of James L. and Pearl (Swisher) Eckelberry.
She attended grade school at Deer Park School south of Columbia Falls, and then attended and graduated from Flathead County High School in the class of 1950. She worked as a waitress at the Jordan Cafe in Kalispell for a few years.
She married David Edward Johnson on May 16, 1951, in Columbia Falls. She was a homemaker and she later became the bookkeeper and secretary for Trinity Lutheran School, where she worked for over 30 years before retiring. F
Following her retirement, she enjoyed baking cookies for her family and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed mowing the lawn and was a member of the quilting club of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Columbia Falls.
She was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was currently a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Johnson, in 2008; and her parents.
She is survived by her son, Corey Johnson, and his wife, Janis, of Columbia Falls; two grandchildren, Brett Wagner and Shauna Calhoun, both of Kalispell; two great-grandchildren, Kendyl and Reegen; two sisters, Thelma McKinley and husband Bill of Missoula, and Thelma Kloock of Kalispell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for Norma will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 640 Seventh St. W., in Columbia Falls. Urn burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
