Tot dials up trouble with upscale 'toy'

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office advised parents at a home on Central Avenue to give their 3-year-old son a new “toy” after he called 911 twice while playing with a cellular phone.

A man said he felt threatened while attempting to serve legal paperwork on Adams Street in Lakeside. The man said a vicious, chained dog lunged at him after its owner said “sic ’em.” He was unable to serve the paperwork.

Someone reported that a dog bit at least two children at a playground near Gopher Lane in Marion.

A burglary was reported on Montana 35 in Evergreen where a business owner said someone jumped a fence and kicked a garage door. Nothing appeared to be stolen.

Kidnapping was initially alleged on East Evergreen Drive where a man thought his ex-wife’s husband had attempted to pick up children at school. The man later said the children made the story up.

Deputies were unable to locate a white mini-van involved in a road rage incident on U.S. 93 South near Lakeside.

A violation of a protection order was reported on Montana 35, where a woman said a man came to her home and stole property. She later learned the protection order had not been served.

On Flathead Avenue near Whitefish, a man said his employer was garnishing his wages for credit card debt he never incurred.

Medications and a cellular phone were reported stolen on Montana 35 in Evergreen by a woman who said a man took them and fled town.

 Harassment was alleged on Lion Trail near Whitefish where a caller accused an ex-girlfriend of calling more than 50 times over two hours.

 A telephone scam was reported on Margrethe Road.

Someone on Shadow Lane was being harassed by e-mail from a brother-in-law.

Equipment was reported stolen from a shop on West Valley Drive.

Six articles of clothing and a cellular phone were reported stolen on Forest Hill Road where a woman said her cousin would not return the items.

On Jade Lane, a woman said a man she has a protection order against has been asking her out on dates.

About 50 horses escaped an enclosure on Braig Road near Whitefish and were later rounded up.

An attempted burglary was reported at a home on Park Avenue.

Kalispell Police Department officers destroyed a ski jump in Woodland Park and counseled a group of people after they were seen pulling each other over the jump with a vehicle.

On U.S. 93 South, a caller reported that a group of people were blowing methamphetamine smoke in a cat’s face. An officer checked on the people, and the cat, and determined the report was unfounded.

Two Glacier High School students were cited for theft after an iPod was stolen and later returned at the school on Wolfpack Way.

A driver on U.S. 93 North said a man walked out in front of him.

Two people reported seeing a truck spinning out and driving over snow piles in a parking lot near North Main Street.

Criminal mischief was reported on Northridge Drive where Christmas ornaments were damaged.

Someone reported seeing an elderly driver collide with two vehicles in a parking lot on Third Avenue East North. A responding officer found no damaged vehicles.

A Buick Century reported stolen near U.S. 2 West had actually been repossessed.

On Empire Loop, a child was found within minutes of being reported as missing.

A 16-year-old girl reported as a runaway after failing to arrive at school on Sixth Avenue East was found a short time later.

A woman on Lambert Court said her child’s father threatened to kill her.

At a business on U.S. 93 North, a woman reported her purse stolen.

Two girls were asked to leave a business on U.S. 93 North after an employee refused them service.

A teenage boy was cited for theft and released to his parents after being caught shoplifting at a business on Hutton Ranch Road.
