Dog is hero in this 'dog bites man' story

A Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputy filed a report after a woman on Plentywood Drive said an unknown man who was wearing a mask grabbed her from behind while she was in her garage and then fled on foot. She said he stated, “I want you and no one can have you,” and that she has been receiving random gifts since Valentine’s Day. She said her dog bit the man. A deputy could not find footprints in a field where the woman said the man fled.

A man was arrested after his son reported that he had been hit in the face several times at a home on Commerce Street in Bigfork.

Officers searched for a man who allegedly took his mother’s cell phone and vehicle without permission. The man apparently fled a business on South Woodland Drive when the officers arrived. A deputy gave the woman a cell phone to use to call 911 if her son returned.

Stalking was alleged on Woodland Road outside Columbia Falls after a woman said she was receiving threatening text messages from a man.

A woman reported that large dogs were chasing her daughter on Whitefish Stage Road.

Burglary was suspected on Jellison Road outside Columbia Falls where it was reported that someone broke into a shed.
