Skull Church was bold from the start. Now it’s getting bolder.

The weekly Wednesday-night event geared toward youth will now be held once a month.

The move comes after renovations to the historic Liberty Theatre in downtown Kalispell. State-of-the-art audio and visual technology will enable the church to bring in some of Christian music’s “most desirable bands,” a press release stated.

The Liberty, located at 120 First Ave. E., also seats several hundred more people than the Strand Theatre, the church’s previous home on Second Street East.

“By moving to a monthly event, we have the ability to focus on delivering a more powerful presentation and developing community awareness and outreach,” Senior Pastor Levi Lusko said.

The church is also branching out to other cities in Montana, including an event slated for Missoula in September.

Skull Church, which is part of Fresh Life Church, hopes to become a regional resource for other churches. The thought is that other churches could partner with Skull Church to minister to the needs of their particular geographic area in a crusade-like effort, said Courtenay Dulak, the church’s media liaison.

The first event for Skull Church under its new monthly format will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 2.

A high-definition webcast will be available at skullchurch.com.

The night’s focus will be to bring a culturally applicable, clear gospel message for people to find life and liberty in Jesus Christ.

The event will feature modern worship, including a surprise guest band, and the opportunity for attendees to ask questions via Twitter or text messages.

“The platform may be intense, the music and media aggressive, but the heart of the night is to lead the audience into a better understanding of who Jesus Christ is and what he did on the cross,” said Executive Pastor Coy Trammel.
