Lois Irene (Livengood) Emmert, 82
Lois Irene (Livengood) Emmert, 82, died Dec. 27, 2010, at a convalescent center in Helena, due to complications of cancer.
She was born in Eureka, the youngest of five children to Roy and Minnie Livengood, June 23, 1928. Mrs. Emmert graduated from Eureka High School and attended Linfield College before working at an attorney’s office in Kalispell.
She met and married Leonard Eugene Emmert, after he returned from the U.S. Navy and World War II. They were married 47 years. They were a farm family in Lower Valley. He preceded her in death 16 years ago.
She is survived by two sisters, Mary Baril of Columbia Falls and Jane Cook of Sequim, Wash. She is also survived by her son, John Emmert, and wife, Nancy, of Helena; and her daughters, Cheryl Rinehart and Lori Scheet of Las Vegas. Four grandsons survive her, J.D. Emmert of Bozeman, Tyler Emmert of Helena, Tim Rinehart of Edmonds, Wash., and Jeff Rinehart of New Orleans. She has six great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place at Anderson, Stevenson, Wilke Funeral Home and Crematory in Helena. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
