Chair Two is now open for scenic lift rides and lift-access mountain bike riding at Whitefish Mountain Resort.

The temporary use of Chair Two was prompted by the closure of Chair One nearly two weeks ago due to a slope slump that affected one of the lift towers.

Chair One is closed indefinitely after the tower was removed.

Prices for round-trip scenic lift rides will be $8 for adults and $5 for juniors ages 7 to 12 and seniors ages 65 to 69. The rides are free children under 6, seniors 70 and older and 2011 winter season pass holders. One way tickets are $4.

The lift will be open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Mountain bikers will be able to reach the Big Mountain Summit Trail from the top of Chair Two, but hiking is not allowed on the trail.

Biker tickets are $13 for one, $18 for two rides or $23 for all-day lift access. The cost for juniors 7 to 12 and seniors 65 to 69 is $9 for one ride, $12 for two rides and $15 for all-day access.

There are currently more than 16 miles of mountain biking trails open on the mountain.
