Hans Leonard Nielsen, 68, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2011, at Whitefish Care and Rehabilitation in Whitefish.

Hans was born May 24, 1943, in Havre, to Hendrick and Mildred (Zellmer) Ehlers. He was raised in Hogeland and Columbia Falls and attended schools in Columbia Falls.

Hans enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie; and father, Hendrick.

Hans is survived by his mother, Mildred Nielsen; son, Duane Nielsen; daughter, Bobbie Rae Nielsen; siblings, Anna and Lester Black of Federal Way, Wash., Corliss and Bill Carr of Anderson, Calif., Gloria and Art Schroeder of Kalispell, and John and Diane Nielsen of Columbia Falls; grandchild, Kyle Nielsen; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Hans will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday July 22, at Glacier Memorial Gardens.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 401 Seventh St. W., Columbia Falls, MT 59912.
