Two bicyclists hit by cars but OK

Kalispell Police responded to a report of a car hitting a bicyclist Monday at Nevada Street and Sunset Boulevard. The rider got some road rash but was up and walking around  when the officer arrived.

Another bicyclist was hit at 11th Street East Monday. He told the officer he didn’t think he was injured too badly and refused treatment.

A 23-year-old woman was caught shoplifting at a business on Hutton Ranch Road.

A woman found her stolen vehicle parked on First Avenue West and called officers for assistance. It was stolen on July 13 but neighbors in the area had no information about the theft.

A wallet with credit cards and $180 cash was taken from a purse in an office of a store on U.S. 93 North.

A man from Minnesota discovered his pistol was stolen during a trip to the Flathead Valley.

Also Monday, a pistol was found left behind in a motel on U.S. 93 South but it was not the one missing from the man from Minnesota. He stayed at a different motel on U.S. 93 South.

Motorists got a surprise around 7 p.m. when a woman left a restaurant on First Avenue West and relieved herself in the middle of the road. She continued down the road with her pants around her ankles. Police investigated for intoxication or mental illness.

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint Monday from a resident of La Brant Road near Bigfork of problems with the public using his property to access Echo Lake with the high water. He said people have tried to use his deck to eat lunch and others urinated in front of his daughter’s bedroom window.

A homeowner on Taber Lane in Columbia Falls reported that motorcycle parts were stolen from his garage and other buildings.

A woman on Conrad Point Road in Lakeside complained of threats from a person over a financial issue.

A caller cried fowl, informing dispatchers that someone dropped off three chickens and two peacocks in a field near Kookoosint Trail near Foy’s Lake several weeks ago. The flock remains at large in the field.

A child’s light blue BMX bike was stolen from Klondyke Loop in Somers. Another resident of the street found a hunting pack missing from a vehicle.

A victim of fraud who lives in West Valley Acres reported sending $300 by Western Union in order to receive winnings which never arrived.

A woman on Batavia Lane lost her purse when someone broke a window in her Ford Ranger.

A Columbia Falls mother reported to police that she discovered indecent pictures taken of her 10-year-old daughter. The incident apparently happened last year.

A purse was taken from a car on Tamarack Lane in Columbia Falls.

The sheriff’s office received a complaint of a gun stolen from Birch Grove Road.

A neighbor complained that a resident of a Bigfork apartment had  not taken a small dog for treatment after it broke its pelvis over a month ago.

An alert citizen noticed some youths with flashlights behind a store in Lakeside. An empty whiskey bottle and a wallet were found in the area the next morning but the store was secure.
