Marilu A. Timmons Freeman, 79

Marilu A. Timmons Freeman, 79, of Stevensville, formerly a longtime resident of Whitefish, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at the Bitterroot Valley Living Center in Stevensville, from natural causes.

Marilu was born in the family home in Whitefish on Nov. 14, 1931, to Raymond and Ruby (Combs) Finney.

She graduated from Whitefish High School in 1949. That same year she married Patrick C. Timmons. They were married for 28 years. Marilu was a terrific homemaker and mother to her two sons.

In 1985 Marilu married Archie "Bud" Freeman. Bud preceded her in death in 1991.

Marilu loved to read and to travel. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and shopping. She looked forward to her monthly outings with her son John to get her hair done, and lunch date. Marilu loved her sons and all of her grandchildren, and her beloved cat Barney.

Marilu was preceded in death by her father and mother; her brother, Norman Finney; and husbands, Patrick C. Timmons, and "Bud" Freeman.

She is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Patrick R. and Marilyn Timmons of Whitefish, and John C. and Gayle Timmons of Stevensville; grandchildren, Patrick J. "P.J." and Aimee Timmons of Oklahoma, John M. Timmons and fiancée, Jessi McPherson, of Missoula, Casy R. and Allison Timmons of Stevensville, Levi Green of Albuquerque, N.M., Brandon Green of Missoula, and Dylan Green, airman first class, stationed in England. She had 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Jim and Sharon Finney of Oregon; and her sister, Kathi and Jim Sadlier of Alberta.

At her request no services will be held.

A family gathering and celebration is planned later in the fall.
