Mary Ida Stillman, 94
Mary Ida Stillman, 94, passed away Monday, July 18, 2011, in Helena, where she had been living with her son, Charles "Skip" Stillman.
Mary was born in Swan Lake on June 1, 1917, the daughter of Monroe and Margaret Spink. She lived in Montana all of her life, most of it in Kalispell.
Mary managed the Devonshire Motel in Kalispell for a number of years before she and her husband, Adee, purchased and managed a successful motel in Miles City for a number of years.
In later years she thoroughly enjoyed her time spent as chaplain for the Disabled American Veterans in Kalispell. One of Mary's favorite places to be and things to do was at the First Baptist Church, "Mary's Church," in Kalispell. Mary was a dignified woman who believed strongly in women's rights, made friends easily, enjoyed all time spent with her family and was proud of their accomplishments. In all of her 94 years she loved all of her family, old and young. She also enjoyed spending time and activities with her many friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband; her beloved daughter, Donna Lee; one sister; and one grandson.
She is survived by her son, Charles "Skip" Stillman; two sisters; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of Mary's life at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6, in the First Baptist Church in Kalispell.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 301 W. Wyoming St., in Kalispell or to an organization of the donor's choice.
