Loggers still perfect in league play

LIBBY - Jared Winslow improved to 4-1 on the mound and Tate Wilson hit his first home run of the season as Libby breezed by the Kalispell Lakers 11-1 in Class A American Legion baseball action on Tuesday.

Libby (11-10 overall and 4-0 league) exploded for five runs in the first inning, then scored three times in the fourth and once each in the fifth, sixth and seventh.

Wilson's homer to left field came with two runners on and two outs in the fourth inning. It was his first round-tripper of the season.

Winslow checked Kalispell on two hits in five innings. He fanned 14 and issued two walks.

His no-hit streak ended at 22 innings in the fifth inning when Mike Bare doubled.

Robbie Krueger also doubled for Kalispell.

Winslow and Wilson had two hits each. Wilson also doubled.

Winslow finished with 3 RBI, while Wilson and Micah Germany both drove in a pair of runs.

The Kalispell Lakers host Kootenai Valley on Friday. The doubleheader starts at 5 p.m. Kalispell hosts Missoula for two more games on Sunday, starting at 1 p.m.

Libby plays at Kootenai Valley on Saturday, 5 p.m. The Loggers have a doubleheader on Sunday at the Glacier Twins A, starting at 1 p.m.
