McLean, Obermiller lift Lakers to sweep

Kalispell rallied in both games to sweep a Class A American Legion baseball doubleheader from the visiting Kootenai Valley Rangers on Friday night to improve to 10-8 overall and 2-1 in league play.

Matt McLean fanned 17 batters and held Kootenai Valley to five hits, which included a grand slam and a triple, as the Lakers pulled out a 7-5 victory in the second game.

Charlie Obermiller's infield single in the bottom of the seventh with one out scored Evan Eickert from third base as the Lakers took the opener 12-11. Kalispell scored three runs in the seventh to win it.

Kalispell had two extra base hits on the day - doubles by Hank McLeod in the first game and Robert Simmons in the second contest.

Kalispell is back in action today with a home doubleheader with the Missoula Mavs. The first pitch is set for noon.
