Faulty decisions by elected officials
OK, let me understand this. Recently our wonderful officials who we voted in put in a new ordinance which requires the people to keep their property clean of dog poop! However, someone can have junk vehicles around their house, making their place look gross.
We lost our code enforcement officer due to budget cuts a year or two ago, but we are required to keep our own property clean or get fined. We are being policed by our neighbors, who may or may not like us. So that opens up a whole new can of worms for neighbor wars!
I do not feel that this was a wise decision by our elected officials, as this is the United States of America, and that being said, we are free? Hmm... what would our forefathers say about this new ordinance?
OK, jump forward to today, and our elected officials want to tax us for using our roads. Whoops, no, this is not a tax. Bull! A tax by any other name is still a tax! So where do we go from here? Although this is just an idea, so was the pooper-scooper ordinance.
Let’s send a message to our elected officials that in today’s economy, with costs going up for water and sewer, which are going up due to a faulty decision to expand our treatment plant and now putting the whole cost on us the “residents,” that we will not accept this!
Gas prices are on a skyward move, which raises food, clothes and prices on everything else that we buy. Can we afford to be quiet any longer? I voted for these people who want to put all these nails in our coffins, but I can correct this in the next election!
Enough is enough. Our federal government is killing us by not drilling in our own country and making us buy from foreign countries, along with other faulted decisions, and now our local officials are starting to make faulty decisions, too!
We have in the past put Streetscape into play, which cost a small fortune, and the remodel of the old Wells Fargo bank to make more room for city offices, and how is that going? I heard that the offices are small and not too nice, but that was just a rumor I heard. How much did that cost, hmm? Lots of projects wasted.
Oh yeah, let us not forget the projects driven away by our city and their building costs. like the department store that was supposed to come in next to Lowe’s; was that Kohl’s?
Hmmm, and Bucky’s project was also run off by delays.
I am tired of our elected officials running this city like the federal government with the money we don’t have. Get real, live within your means, and remember we elect you, and more taxes are not the solution!
