A nonprofit organization in Fortine is looking for children to star in an educational television program.

A Thoughtful Hour is producing a new program, “Dare to Be Discovery Center,” spokeswoman Sky Boggs said. The show will teach science lessons that tie in with a Bible lesson.

The program will feature local experts in a variety of fields teaching school-age children about their community, Boggs said. The group already has shot episodes at a local animal shelter, fire department and Libby Dam.

The ministry is looking for children to appear in more episodes. Children don’t need to have acting experience; “the more ‘real’ kids, the better,” Boggs said.

A Thoughtful Hour already has been in contact with major Christian television networks about the show, which will also be a DVD series, she said. She compared the program to “Romper Room.”
