Four athletes join Columbia Falls Hall of Fame

Four athletes were recently inducted into the Columbia Falls High School Hall of Fame.

They are Nick Emerson, Kaleb Johnson, Kayla DeWit and Nathan Thompson.

Emerson has played basketball, tennis and golf at Columbia Falls.

His basketball accomplishments include: 2011 conference MVP, 2011 first team all-conference, 2011 all-state and all-tournament MVP for the Class A state tournament, 2011 Gatorade Player of the Year finalist and 2011 Montana-Wyoming All-Star game selection. He was also an HTIT Tournament All-Star and a 2011 member of the Super State Team.

He was voted honorable mention Northwestern A all-conference and was a 2010 Class A All-Tournament honorable mention selection.

Emerson also earned one letter in tennis and two in golf. He was an academic all-state recipient in golf.

Johnson played football, basketball and ran track for the Wildcats.

He lettered three times during his high school football career and was voted first team Northwestern A all-conference as a wide receiver and defensive back and all-state wide receiver as a junior.

He was first team all-conference again as a senior at wide receiver and defensive back and all-state as both defensive back and tailback. He was voted Northwestern A's defensive MVP.

His basketball accolades are first team all-conference in both 2010 and 2011, all-state in 2010 and Class A All-Tournament team in 2010.

He was all-conference three times in track and all-state twice.

DeWit has been a four-year letterwinner and a member of three Northwestern A divisional champion basketball teams. She's been first team all-conference and all-state every year since her sophomore year.

She was named Northwestern A conference MVP this past winter and was also voted a member of the all-tournament team at the state tournament.

She earned two volleyball and two track letters and was second team all-conference volleyball in 2009. She was also all-conference in both the triple and high jump in 2009.

Thompson is the Tom Dumay Memorial Award winner for Columbia Falls.

He has won seven varsity letters and has been MCA academic all-state seven times. He's received straight A's eight times and won an Air Force Math and Science Award.

Thompson was a member of the 2011 Wildcat track team which won the Class A state championship. He was the 2011 triple jump individual state champion and holds the school record in javelin.

Thompson is the Columbia Falls single-season rushing record holder and was named Northwestern A offensive MVP this past fall. He was all-state and first team all-conference as a tailback and second team all-conference defensive back.

He is a Montana East-West Shrine Game selection and an alternate for the Badlands Bowls.
