Loggers fall to Reds; Lakers beat Twins

LIBBY - Strathmore did all of its scoring in the first two innings to post a 3-2 American Legion baseball victory over the Libby Loggers on Friday at the Big Bat Tournament.

Strathmore pitcher Cody Dangdn held Libby to two hits in going the distance.

Chris Herbig pitched seven innings for Libby. He gave up four hits, fanned seven and issued three walks.

Will Reichel doubled for Libby.

Libby (23-14 overall) had its five-game winning streak snapped. The Loggers have two tournament games tonight, 7 and 9:15.

Libby is 1-1 in tournament play after two days.

The tournament ends Sunday.

WHITEFISH - Hank McLeod struck out eight and held Glacier to three hits as the Kalispell Lakers improved to 12-14 overall, 4-5 in league play, with a victory over the Twins at Memorial Field.

Andrew Wheeler had the big hit for the Lakers, a double that scored two runners in a four-run third inning.

Charlie Obermiller went 2 for 4 for Kalispell, which had five hits in the contest.

Kalispell plays a doubleheader on Sunday at the Kootenai Valley Rangers, starting at 1 p.m.
