Rosella Mildred Peterson, 82

Rosella Mildred Peterson, 82, passed away June 22, 2011, at Whitefish Care and Rehabilitation Center in Whitefish.

 She was born April 21,1929, in Dooley to Herman and Hilda Heppner.

Rosella moved to Kalispell in 1939, where she attended schools in both Kalispell and Whitefish.

On Feb. 19, 1945, she married Fred Hamilton of Polson. Together they had three sons, Terry, Jerry and Fred Jr.  

Fred Sr., passed away in 1991. Rosella then married Jimmie Peterson in 1993, and he passed away in 2007.

Rosella was a licensed practical nurse and she worked in various hospitals. She retired in 1989. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW, where she was the president from 1995 to1996.

Rosella was preceded in death by her father, Herman, in 1975; her mother, Hilda, in 2002; and her brother, Gary, in 2004. 

She is survived by her sons, Terry and Diane Hamilton, Jerry and Deborah Hamilton, and Fred and Brenda Hamilton; two brothers, Vern and Caroline Heppner, and Ron and Karen Heppner; one sister, Joyce Gneiting; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

 A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on June 27, with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m., at Austin Funeral Home in Whitefish. A lunch will take place immediately after the service at the Whitefish VFW.
