It will take two or three weeks to repair the damage at Glacier High School after a water pipe burst Saturday afternoon.

That’s the word from Superintendent Darlene Schottle.

CTA Architects and Swank Enterprises will be doing the repair work, Schottle said Monday evening.

Some lockers were removed from the B pod on Monday so that drying could occur, and some Sheetrock pieces were also removed.

An instructional technology team began assessing damage to computers on Monday. Some of them didn’t turn on, Schottle said,  and it will take a few days to determine if the machines can be repaired or need to be replaced. Some computers are still drying.

An insurance inspector should be on scene today.

“It was a good day,” she said. “We’ve had a really good team working with us.”

Eleven classrooms, a special education pod, administrative offices and the school’s main office were affected after a pipe burst in a small conference room on the second floor at 1:40 p.m. Saturday.

A youth wrestling tournament already under way was canceled, and attendees were asked to leave the building after an alarm went off.

Students were directed to the school’s three other pods for classes Monday.

Updates can be found on the school’s website at www.sd5.k12.mt.us/ghs
