Troy Andrew Holt, 46

| March 1, 2011 2:00 AM

Troy Andrew Holt passed away on Feb. 24, 2011, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Troy was born on Nov. 9, 1964, to Shirlie Hininger and Richard Holt in Helena. Growing up, he was the youngest to ever join the Legion baseball team, and was a four-time varsity high school football player.

Troy studied at Montana Tech University and the University of Montana to receive his master's in exercise physiology. During this time he met his wife, Mitzi, and they were married on April 2, 1988.

After giving his life to the Lord, Troy was called to be a police officer. In 1991, he graduated from the Montana Police Academy and moved his young family to Kalispell where he served 15 years. Troy later spent three years as a construction foreman for Goose Bay Construction, and the remaining years of his life as a financial consultant for Primerica, and donating time to the Salvation Army.

Serving the community was his passion. Helping and connecting with people through police work, ministry, athletics, volunteering, or under any other circumstance was Troy’s legacy. He touched the hearts of many through his steadfast faith, warrior countenance, and unconditional love for those around him. Those who knew Troy knew him to be devoted to his family, friends and neighbors. Troy was always willing to help no matter what the consequence, because everybody was worth something. Everybody was worth the effort. To remember who Troy is, is to always make the right decision and stand by it.

Troy is survived by his wife, Mitzi Holt; son, Levi Holt; and daughter, Kaycee Holt; mother, Shirlie Watne; brother, Tom, and Darlene Holt, sister, Tanya, and Bob Douglas; in-laws, Bob and Becky Munden; sister-in-law, Natalie Munden; brother-in-law, Larry Ross; as well as numerous nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts and friends. Recently deceased, John Watne was instrumental in molding and shaping Troy into the man he became.

There will be a memorial service held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at Easthaven Baptist Church. All who loved him are welcome to celebrate his life.
