Adopt-a-Soldier effort needs magazines

| March 3, 2011 2:00 AM

For the first time in four years, the effort to collect magazines for soldiers has come up short of publications to meet the demand, according to Kim Jones.

Jones, who founded the Adopt-a-Soldier effort, said requests from deployed soldiers come in daily to www.magazinesfortroops.com. Men’s interest publications are particularly needed.

Examples of subjects of interest include hunting, fishing, cars, trucks, computers/technology, health and fitness. Magazines should be no older than three months.

People interested in sharing magazines may drop them off at boxes located in the lobby/cart areas of Rosauers in Kalispell and Harvest Foods in Bigfork and Glacier Bank offices.  Movie DVDs and music CDs also are welcomed.
