City crews fix water line break

Kalispell suffered another water main break Monday.

A cast-iron pipe burst at Third Avenue and Center Street, said Susie Turner, the city’s water superintendent.

Workers were able to repair the pipe the same day, she said.

This is the third water main break in the past two weeks. Previous breaks occurred at Sixth Street West and Seventh Street.

“We do get water main breaks this time of year,” Turner said.

“When it’s bubbling, odds are it’s a water main break.”

Residents should report water main breaks to the Public Works Department during working hours by calling 758-7720. After hours, Turner suggests people call 911.
