Doris Evelyn Ognovic, 87

Doris Evelyn Ognovic, 87, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2011, at the Brendan House in Kalispell.

She was born Sept. 5, 1923, in Fairdale, N.D., to Walter and Ragna (Sholey) Anderson.

Doris married her husband, Joe Ognovic, on Dec. 13, 1941. Joe passed away in 1988.

In earlier days she was involved with her church, Bethlehem Lutheran, and with the Scandinavian Fraternities. Every year she looked forward to going to the Lutefisk Dinner.

  She loved crafts of all sorts. She also loved to crochet and to quilt. Everyone in the family has at least one quilt, if not several. She adored antiquing, yard sales and going to thrift stores. She was a kind and generous woman who always saw the best in people and life's circumstances.

Doris is survived by her son, Sam and his wife, Annie, who live in Alta Loma, Calif.; and also by her two nieces, Sherry and Linda, who live in Seattle.

A graveside service for Doris will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 10, at Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
