| March 10, 2011 2:00 AM

Beth Adele Beller, 87, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2011, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

She was born on March 11, 1923, to Abraham and Clara (Gilbertson) Prestbye. She was proud to have been a lifelong resident of the Flathead Valley.

Beth Adele grew up in the Stillwater area, where she attended grade school. She also attended Central School and Flathead County High School, where she was a member of the Class of 1940.

Beth Adele was married to Alden Beller in 1945. She worked with her husband, Alden, in Kalispell School District No. 5 as the office manager for the Special Services Department.

After their retirement in 1980, Beth Adele wrote several books, including family history books, recipe books and “10¢ Coffee: The Story of Sykes Grocery and Market.”

In the later years, Beth Adele looked forward to rummage sale season, where she would find lightly used Teddy bears for a great bargain. It was her joy to deliver them to Head Start to be passed out to the children. She also loved to do crossword puzzles, knit baby booties and talk to her family on her cell phone!

Beth Adele had many favorite charities, which she generously supported. Should you desire, memorials could be sent to any of the following: Northridge Lutheran Church, Immanuel Lutheran Communities, Central School Museum, Samaritan House, Flathead Food Bank and ELCA Disaster Relief.

She is survived by her children, Don and Janan Beller of Kalispell, and Kathy and Darrell Buszmann, and Jane and Bill Carlson, all of Billings. Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren, Jeff and Sarah Buszmann of Billings, Ashley and Tim Quanbeck of Hardin, Tristan and Forrest Leder of Missoula; and her sister, Alta and Don Gaarder of South Dakota. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and her many friends and extended family at the Buffalo Hill Terrace where she had lived since August of 2000.

Her husband Alden, her brother Norman Prestbye, and her parents preceded her in death.
