Erik Marolt, 30

Erik Marolt of Lompoc, Calif., died Feb. 10, 2011, at his home.

Erik was born March 6, 1980, to Nando and Franciska Marolt in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They lived in Columbia Falls, and he graduated from Columbia Falls High School in 1998.

On June 9, 2007, he married Kelli Mathews in Winchester, Va.

Erik served in the U.S. Air Force as a staff sergeant until he left the service. After his discharge, he was employed as a lead technician for InDyne Corporation doing missile communications.

He is survived by his wife; his daughter, Frankie; his parents, Nando and Franciska Marolt; his sister, Natasha Bartinelli, her husband, John, and their two children, Dominic and Amelia.

 Erik's hobbies and interests were many: hunting and fishing with his dear father, skiing in his beloved Montana, cooking, woodworking, camping and traveling.

Erik was cremated and his remains will be scattered in Glacier National Park and in Slovenia, where he has many relatives and friends.

A service commemorating Erik's life was held on Feb. 18 in Lompoc.
