| March 13, 2011 1:00 AM

Christina Ann Tranberg, 95, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at her home in Lakeside.

She was born to Elling and Elena Anderson on July 21, 1915, in Hillhead, Marshall County, S.D. The family moved to Circle in 1928. As a girl, she helped with the farm work and broke range horses to ride.

The family moved to New Deal in 1934, where she met her husband, Cecil Tranberg. They were married on June 26, 1935. They moved to Lakeside in 1936. They had two children, Patsy and Leroy.

When Cecil enlisted in the Navy, Christina took the children to Seattle and worked building airplanes at Boeing. When the war was over, they built a house in Kalispell. They moved to Eugene, Ore., in 1950, and back to Lakeside in 1971.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and crocheting, making many lovely things for her family, but most of all she enjoyed her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Cecil; her parents; six brothers, Emil, Arthur, Lloyd, Lorance, Elmer and Edwin; and sister, Josephine Wolf.

She is survived by sisters, Tillie and Dean Sprinkel, and Helen and Dean McManus; brother, Leonard; children, Patsy and Roy Foote, and Leroy and Joyce Tranberg; grandchildren, Christina and Alan, Roy, David, and Catherine and John; and great-grandchildren, Amanda, Stephanie, Benjamin, James and Elena.

Funeral services for Christina will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, in the Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Wayne Pris officiating. Burial will follow in the C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 15.
