Victor B. Leatzow Jr., 66

Victor B. Leatzow Jr., born June 24, 1944, in Chicago, succumbed to cancer on March 8, 2011.

He is survived by his wife, Penny Leatzow; his son, Dan Michael Leatzow and wife Elaine, all of Kalispell, and his son, Victor B. Leatzow III and wife Julie of Kalama, Wash.; his grandchildren, Victor B. Leatzow IV and Brandon Leatzow of Kalama, and Dahlia Leatzow, Savanah Brewer, Madison Brewer and Kylee Brewer of Kalispell; and his brother, Jim Leatzow, of Three Lakes, Wis.; as well as many, many extended family and friends.

Vic was known as “Cap,” “Sweetness” or “His Imperial Sweetness” by many of his family and friends. He was a unique personality and witty beyond words.

He was a Golden Gloves boxer at Culver Military Academy in Culver, Ind., an All-State football player at Carl Sandburg High School in Palos Park, Ill., a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity at Baker University in Baldwin, Kan., and served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of the West Englewood Masonic Lodge in Chicago, Scottish Rite of Grand Junction, Colo., and El Jebel Shrine of Denver. He was an avid outdoorsman and life member of the National Rifle Association.

Memorials may be made in his name to the Shriners Children's Hospitals or the Flathead County CASA for Kids program.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at the First Presbyterian Church of Kalispell, 540 S. Main St., Kalispell. Please join us.
