Lynn Ann Holder, 45

| March 16, 2011 2:00 AM

Lynn Ann Holder was born May 31, 1965, to Gale and Lela Holder in Whitefish. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 12, 2011, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Lynn Ann was raised in Eureka where she was involved with 4-H and the Appaloosa Club. The baby of the family, she liked to follow her siblings who doted on her and exploring the outdoors. She had a love of animals, particularly basset hounds, and rescuing them that carried throughout her life.

She graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1983, fighting forest fires and later becoming the first female foreman at Plum Creek in Fortine.

She married Dave Mills in 1987, and while the two later divorced, they remained great friends. She moved to Whitefish in 1997 to start a job with Semitool, working in the shipping department. A hard-working quick learner, her co-workers described her as fearless.

Lynn Ann loved her Harley Davidson, whether traveling to Sturgis or exploring the Tobacco and Flathead Valleys. She was quick to help those in need, always putting everyone before herself. Everyone she befriended became a friend for life.

In 2005 she assumed her proudest role in life in becoming Logan's “momma.” She and her young son could be found searching for bargains to help those in need or spending time with her cats and beloved dogs.

Lynn Ann is survived by her son, Logan Gale Holder; mother, Lela Holder, of Kalispell; brother, Mike, and his wife, Kit, of Kalispell; sister, Gail, and her husband, Dawain, of Fortine; and brother, Rock, of Kalispell. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

Lynn Ann will be laid to rest near her father Gale, who preceded her in death in 1993.

A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. on March 17, at the First Baptist Church located at 935 Ninth Street East in Eureka. Graveside services will follow at the Eureka Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the Holder family has asked that donations be made to the Logan G. Holder Trust/Scholarship Fund established by Lynn Ann's coworkers.
