Mary Britton, 90

Mary Britton passed away on March 14, 2011, at the Immanuel Lutheran Home where she had resided for several years.

She was born on April 22, 1920, to Henry and Ruth (Morton) Eslick on their family farm.

She attended school in Bigfork, graduating from Bigfork High School in 1938.

She and John Britton eloped in August 1940 and were married in Wenatchee, Wash. They were married for 63 years before the death of John. They had two daughters, Marla and Maureena.

After retiring from the Forest Service in 1984, she pursued her interest in photography and antiques, until poor health limited her activities.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Britton; parents; and her brother, Merle Eslick.

She is survived by her daughters; her grandson, Sean Mueller and wife, Shawntelle; and Mary’s grandchildren, Anthony Mueller and wife Danielle of Hillsboro, Ore., Courtney Mueller of Gold Beach, Ore., and Jesse, Bailey and Madison Mueller of Bigfork. She is also survived by her brother, Joseph Eslick, and his children, Jay Eslick of Chinook, JoAnn of Bigfork and Lee Eslick of Bigfork; and sister-in-law, Kathy Britton, of Kalispell.
