Horse survives vehicle collision

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle striking a horse at a speed of 50 miles per hour on U.S. 2 East outside Columbia Falls. The driver was not injured, though there was major damage to the vehicle. The horse survived the collision, ran away from the scene and was later returned to its owner.

Deputies received a report of numerous thefts on U.S. 2 West in Kila. A caller said a hay baler, saddle and other belongings have been stolen since December.

Deputies were unable to locate a vehicle seen swerving from shoulder to shoulder on Forest Hill Road. A caller said the reckless vehicle at one point drove into a ditch and over a curb.

A caller reported seeing a young girl hiding in a ditch off of U.S. 93 South.

A woman on Cougar Trail said her boyfriend’s soon-to-be ex-wife was harassing her by telling police she was calling her.

Five horses reportedly were obstructing traffic by walking on Trumble Creek Road.

Eight pigs were reportedly at large on Concord Lane.

A man on East Evergreen Drive accused a woman who has a protection order against him of dealing for pain medication with their child present.

A dog reportedly bit someone on Ferndale Drive in Bigfork hard enough to draw blood.

On Commerce Street in Bigfork, a caller said that a man and a woman were harassing her by posting inappropriate information on Facebook, flashing headlights at her home and possibly chipping her windshield.

Burglary was reported on Lake Park Lane near Whitefish where a caller accused a man of stealing money and prescription medications.

A deputy counseled neighbors on Nicholson Drive after a woman accused a man of becoming aggressive when telling her to keep her children out of his shed.

 At a home on Camp Trail near Whitefish, a burglary was discovered when a passer-by reported seeing the kitchen cabinets of a home open while the owners were known to be out of state.

A hit-and-run collision was reported on West Idaho Street where a driver was rear-ended by a maroon Mercedes with a peace sign decal in its window.

A group of juveniles were told to stay away from a business on Second Avenue West after it was reported that they were skateboarding and harassing customers.

Two people on snowmobiles were accused of tearing through a flower garden on Homesteaders Way in Marion. They agreed to pay to repair any damage.

A woman on Angel Point Road near Lakeside accused her boyfriend of stealing her purse after she asked him to move out.

The Whitefish Police Department received a report of a physical disturbance on Central Avenue.

A verbal disturbance was reported on Colorado Avenue.

Someone complained about noise on Pine Avenue.
